EXCLUSIONS

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to the Australian Consumer Law, Sydney Furniture Direct is not liable, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under any statute or otherwise, for or in respect of:
  1. Normal wear and tear. In this regard, please note that the following may occur as a result of natural and normal usage:
    • a. Leathers and fabrics will fade and crease;
    • b. Foam, fillings and suspension will soften and form the shape of the user over time and it depends on many variable such as the degree of use, the weight of the user, sitting habits, .. etc.
    • d. Scars, marks and differing pore density and colour are natural characteristics of leather.
    • e. The leather and fabric products are upholstered by hand and therefore, the size of these products may have minor variations from the sample products or from any product specifications you have been quoted.
  2. Damage caused by spills such as acid, solvents, dyes or other corrosive materials, ink, or paint.
  3. Damage caused by body secretions.
    • Some medications can create a residue in your perspiration which can cause permanent damage to the upholstery. This is not covered by the warranty.
  4. Damage caused by improper cleaning, negligence, treatment of the product with chemicals, exposing the product to the sun, extreme heat or bright light such as lamps, transportation, storage of the product, sharp objects, pets or otherwise caused by your acts and / or omissions.
  5. Damage caused through any modifications, alterations, improper assembly, tampering or products used in an abnormal manner and not for the products intended purposes.
  6. Damage caused by Act of God.
  7. products sold as floor stock or clearance, repaired products, or products with defects which have been drawn to the customer’s attention before purchase.

When moving your furniture, the temptation is there to simply drag it usually by the soft cushions. This can result in damage to your upholstery, as cushions are meant for cushioning, not moving.

Your lounge is designed for sitting, not jumping. Always avoid “falling” into your chair, as this puts undue force on all the framing.

Sydney Furniture Direct warranty is against manufacturing defects is not transferable. It is limited to the original purchaser specified in the original Sales Order. The warranty against defects only applies to products that are used for normal domestic purposes and excludes products used for commercial purposes.

MATTRESSES, MATTRESS BASES & BED FRAMES

All Sydney Furniture Direct Mattress products are covered by warranty.

Warranty durations vary based on different mattress, mattress base and bedframe models. Please see the individual mattress, mattress base or bedframe models for the warranty duration.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects.

Mattresses must be in a sanitary, unstained condition to retain their warranty; hence we highly recommend the use of a good quality mattress protector.

Mattress warranties apply so long as the mattress is in a hygienic state and has been rotated every 2 weeks for the first 3 months and then every 3 months thereafter.

EXCLUSIONS

  • Natural wear and tear: if the problem with the mattress comes about from its use rather than from faulty construction or materials. This includes natural weakening of materials, scuffs, scratches, discoloration of the cover (from use or washing), or minor dips, lumps or bunching.
  • User-inflicted damage: if you accidentally rip your mattress or cause damage to it in regular use or in moving it. This also includes damage that might be inflicted by a pet or by a child jumping on the mattress,. Etc.
  • Dissatisfaction with size, feel, comfort or performance of the mattress:  the performance of the mattress from the perspective of support or comfort or any issues related to the size or height of the mattress, whether it sleeps hot, whether it permits too much motion transfer, whether it is not comfortable or causes backpain,. Etc.
  • Body Signature: All mattresses will exhibit body signatures as the mattress upholstery conforms to the body to provide cushioning and comfort. This is not a defect covered by warranty.
